A GPS equipment manufacturer needed to relocate its intellectual property portfolio from Hong Kong to Hungary as part of a broader corporate restructuring. The portfolio included trademarks registered across both jurisdictions, each governed by distinct legal frameworks for ownership, recordal, and enforcement. Cross-border IP transfers carry a real risk of protection gaps — a lapse between deregistration in the source jurisdiction and effective recognition in the target one can leave assets exposed.
